Our Mission Statement
The Women’s Empowerment Club at Oaks Christian School exists to promote positive body image, educate students about women’s issues, and create an empowering environment for female members of the Oaks Christian community. Here at Oaks, social justice is an important part of our education, and the WEC seeks to provide girls with successful role models who can come in and offer valuable insight. In order to motivate girls to pursue careers in male-dominated industries and become advocates for social change, we want to give our girls the opportunity to directly hear from female change makers. The WEC also seeks to strengthen the bond between girls at Oaks, creating a safe place where we can talk about issues that impact us directly as women, and prompt us to work together to find solutions. This will be done through discussion, reading, and speaker series. As we prepare ourselves to be the leaders of tomorrow, there are no better way to bolster our abilities and ready ourselves for the real world than to connect with each other and successful women role models in our community.
